It’s really hard to record great songs with just a voice and a guitar. It’s something Jeff Mangum can do in heeps, same with Kurt Vile. Speaking of the latter, this song uses some of the same disjointed construction and off-rhythm singing Kurt does - just jarring enough to be satisfying while keeping you on your toes.
